Millennium Park
Living Room
Before
After
The stunning views of Millennium Park, Lake Michigan, and downtown Chicago made this condo a showstopper. Unfortunately, the condo was in need of a major facelift and the current design was distracting from the beautiful views. The client purchased the condo with the dream of being able to host cocktail parties and intimate gatherings, so the goal was to make this main living space comfortable for everyday life, but also luxurious enough for black-tie evenings. The fireplace was a big focal point of the condo, so we wanted to upgrade this by making it sleek and timeless to fit the client's aesthetic. Adding in storage and bookshelves to one side gave the wall more function and dimension, and helped balance the weight of the fireplace and TV. The custom sectional and sofa console were built specifically to fit this space. The stone inlay on the console allows for guests to set down a drink without the need of a coaster, helping to make this room ideal for social gatherings. The ceilings in this building are concrete which prevents the residents from adding in additional lighting locations. We were able to create a dropped ceiling by adding framework and a couple of inches of drywall to be able to install recessed and perimeter lighting. The bronze glow of the interiors in the evenings, surrounded by the glimmering city lights, creates the ultimate elegant and sophisticated home.
Kitchen
Before
After
The kitchen before the renovation was lacking elegance and function. The lack of storage was not ideal for our client coming from a large home in the suburbs. The lack of privacy was also a problem, as the adjacent office building workers were able to see into the space. Creating the custom cabinet with the full-length mirrors not only made the kitchen feel and look more expansive, but made the large storage cabinet feel seamless with the floor-to-ceiling windows on that same wall, and created privacy without sacrificing the views. As this kitchen is part of the main living area, it was imperative that everything be hidden away to maintain a clean, elegant feel during social gatherings. The large cabinet conceals a wine and coffee bar, a full pantry, and a microwave and oven, making this an extremely functional and beautiful addition to the space. The tones of the kitchen were chosen specifically to add a warm, bronze glow to the client's cocktail hour gatherings.
Tampa Historic
Back of House
Before
After
This was a major historic renovation. Due to the guidelines of the historic registry, the exterior changes were limited. There was much discussion on the location of the new pool, but we were finally given the approval for the location you see here. Reconfiguring the interior provided the opportunity to add the double doors that frame a beautiful view of the pool from inside. Being able to close in a portion of the porch allowed us to add a powder room to the main level of the house. All new windows and a new paint job makes the house feel more updated, and a sleek redesign to the deck steps made the transition from house to patio seamless.

Fresh paint goes a long way! Removing the tree and installing the pool also helped give this historic home a new life.
Family Room

Replacing carpet with hardwood flooring almost always does the trick in enhancing the natural beauty of any home. The large, L-shaped sectional and chairs makes the room the perfect gathering place for any family.

Making sure this home was staying true to its historic 1920's roots was very important. The material selections were chosen to stay in line with those roots, but also to create a very functional space for a family. The Quartzite countertops are very durable, and the counter seating allows for fun family times in the kitchen. Plenty of storage is always key for a useful kitchen.

Nothing says comfort more than a cozy fireplace that the family can gather around. The natural color scheme stayed consistent throughout the house to give this historic home an updated and youthful feeling.
Master Bath
Before
After
Perhaps one of the most obvious renovations of this home was the complete transformation of the master bathroom. Creating one large master bathroom by knocking down a wall to open up the space. Featuring an elegant, freestanding bathtub, double vanity, and classic materials, this bathroom stays true to its historic roots, but with a contemporary twist that is ideal for the client's modern lifestyle.
Main Stairs
Before

Sometimes the most subtle changes are the best. The original floors and stairs of the home were stained a deep espresso color to create contrast with the lighter walls. In some areas there was damage to the original floors so we brought in new hardwood to match the historic, creating a seamless transition from room to room. Adding in modern lighting always transforms a home. This entryway is now clean and crisp to welcome family and guests.
